Mexican Lolitas
If you haven’t heard of the Lolita style, you’ve undoubtedly seen Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Girls, inspired by the girls who dress up extravagantly, playfully and a bit like anime characters in Harajuku, Tokyo. The style has now been adopted by girls in Tijuana, who dress in doll-like dresses, knee-high stockings, and little-girl shoes popular with the Sweet Lolita style. (There are many types, Gothic, Punk, Country, you get the drift.)
The four friends featured here are Claudia Cardenas, Yadira Jaqueline Torres Moreno, Glades Coronel, and Daniela Michel. They buy their clothes online from the Japanese based brand Angelic Pretty and spend their Saturdays showing off their outfits at the local mall, Plaza Rio.
