Best Breakfast: Huckleberry

Cheers to my new favorite breakfast spot - Huckleberry in Santa Monica. It takes me more than a 1/2 hour to get there. It’s pricey for breakfast, there’s often a line and it’s totally worth it. FYI: They’re closed Mondays.

Can you believe these desserts?

Sunday is their busiest day. I learned the hard way. There was a line out the door, but no wait for a seat. The tables are managed well by the staff.

I’m not a big fan of traditional potato salad. The version below looks incredible.

Are you kidding me? They brought samples of a blueberry muffin while I was in line and it was the best blueberry muffin I’ve ever tasted.

Enough window shopping. Onto what we drank and ate.

Check out the size of my prosecco. Score!

No time to admire for too long. Ahh.

Look what arrived first. My strawberry crostada.

This probably would’ve been the breakfast ever, but it got better.

This dish (Soft Baked Eggs) makes me want to buy a run down mansion in Italy, call it Bramasole and write a new version of Under the Tuscan Sun. There are two perfect poached eggs hiding under the beans, tomato sauce, fresh basil and parm. The bread wasn’t too crusty or too soft and sopped it all up perfectly. Goldilocks would’ve approved.

Robert ordered the Green Eggs & Ham. The green comes from pesto. It’s sunny side up eggs on a bed of ham, atop an English muffin. Lots of peppery arugula with olive oil.

Heaven is breaking into a beautiful runny egg yolk.

Better than honey.

They even have a little garden on site. Can you stand it?
