The Perils of Oscar Prep

I spent the week getting ready for the Oscars, lining up hair and makeup, getting waxed and scrubbed and even zapped with something that’s supposed to reduce puffiness. Bring it.

I didn’t even think about the dress. I planned so well, I bought my dress a month ago. When I saw it, I knew it was mine. Royal blue silk Bagdley Mishka. I tried it on and was in love instantly. Done.

Well I got greedy. With so much time on my hands, I searched Rent the Runway to see if my dress on there. It was. Of course it was.

Back went the one I bought and I rented the dress. I saved hundreds!

Fast forward to this morning.  My dress isn’t here. It should’ve arrived yesterday. Come to think of it, I should’ve had a shipping confirmation days ago and that never came. The Academy Awards are tomorrow. I’m dying inside.

Thankfully when I called their toll free number the gal was nice and and tried to talk me off the ledge.

She said everything looks great. I told her the dress hadn’t arrived yet. She said, it’s all set for March 24th – 27th.

March.

I called Nordstrom to see if my dress (see how I’m calling it my dress now) to see if the one thing I needed more than anything in the world was still available.

She said yes, but it’s on hold for another girl and it’s the only one in my size in the entire company. Thankfully, she could tell I was ready to lose it, and decided to ignore the 24-hour hold Nordstrom normally gives shoppers and gave the girl 20 minutes to make up her mind.

Long story short, I got the dress AND it was 50% off!

This girl is ready for The OSCARS!

I am still deciding on how I should wear my hair… thoughts?
